Baba Vanga lost her eyesight at age twelve during a storm. She was found days later, her eyes sealed shut. She said she had experienced her first vision during that time. Since then she believed she was given psychic as well as healing abilities. As her following increased, she became known as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans”. Although she had passed away in 1996 at age 84, she had allegedly made predictions for many years to come, including predicting the world will end in 5079. However, she had most famously predicted Barack Obama’s election and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Now she has left behind some dismal predictions for 2022.
Baba Vanga’s Previous Predictions
Baba Vanga had reportedly made hundreds of predictions during her 50-year career as a clairvoyant. She credited her abilities to invisible creatures around her that she couldn’t explain. They told her information about people and the world. Her followers also believed she was telepathic and could communicate with aliens.
Her followers believed she had pre-told about global warming and the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. She had said,
“Cold regions will become warm … and volcanoes will awaken. A huge wave will cover a big coast covered with people and towns, and everything will disappear beneath the water. Everything will melt, just like ice.” However, she initially reached stardom for predicting the sinking of the Kursk, a famous Russian submarine, in 2000. In 1980, she had said, “Kursk will be covered with water and the whole world will weep over it.”
They also say she predicted 9/11 when she reportedly said,
“Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush and innocent blood will gush.”
The followers say the American brethren refer to the Twin Towers and the wolves howling in a bush refers to the president at the time, George W. Bush.
She also correctly predicted that the 44th President of the United States would be African-American. However, she incorrectly said he could be the last president of the U.S. Plus, she said a “great Muslim war” will end the Islamic caliphate by 2043. So many conspiracy theorists stated that the rise of ISIS is proof of this future event.
Additionally, she allegedly predicted aliens will help humans build civilizations underwater by 2130 and war on Mars in 3005. And soon before she died, she stated a 10-year-old blind girl in France will inherit her psychic abilities and will make herself known to the world. However, many people close to Baba Vanga, when she was alive, claimed she didn’t make some of the prophecies circulating the internet. [1] Regardless, these are her predictions for 2022.

Predictions for 2022
- An increase in natural disasters, including floods in Australia and several Asian countries
- A lethal virus will come from Siberia. It was once contained in ice but it will melt due to climate change.
- Water shortages. As populations and pollution increases, many people will struggle to find proper drinking water.
- An attack of locusts will attack crops and cause famine in India.
- People will spend even more time in front of screens and many will begin to confuse virtual reality with actual reality.
- Alien invasion. An asteroid called ‘Oumuamua’ will come to seek life on earth and the aliens on board may take human prisoners. [3]
Not All Predictions Came True
Keep in mind that not all of Baba Vanga’s predictions came true. For 2021, she predicted that Europe will be under chemical attack by Muslim radicals and that Donald Trump will suffer from a mortal illness that will take his hearing. Although Trump did contract the coronavirus, it neither killed him nor made him deaf.
She also alleged Europe will “cease to exist by 2016”. However, many followers attribute this to Brexit. There was another about China becoming a superpower in 2018 and a new form of energy coming from Venus. While China’s status has grown since Baba Vanga’s death, 2018 wasn’t a particularly important year for the country. Plus, there was nothing extraordinary happening on Venus at the time either.
There was also the third nuclear World War that was supposed to happen from 2010 to 2014. The radioactive fallout would end all animals and vegetation in the Northern Hemisphere. Then there was a giant meteorite supposed to hit Russia in 2019 or 2020. [3]
In short, we won’t know what will happen in 2022 until it happens. While we can be on the lookout for asteroids and water shortages, it may be better to be optimistic for a good and prosperous year. We definitely need one.
