Aliyah Coleman thought she knew herself by the age of 26. She identifies as a woman, and she was attracted to women. As a lesbian, never did she dream of being with a man. However, things changed when she met a 56-year-old man with whom she worked. He may have been a man 30 years her senior, but she knew she wanted to marry him.
Instant attraction
Sexual attraction is tricky. Some of us have a wide variety of people we’re attracted to. Others have a “type” that narrows it down a little bit. They know what they want in a person, which can be a blessing and a curse. Aliyah Coleman thought she was the latter of the two, having always been attracted to women. In September 2020, Aliyah started a new job working as a secondary school teacher. This was where she met the person who changed her life forever.
Kenneth Coleman, who was 56 years old at the time, also worked at the same school as Aliyah. When the two of them met, Aliyah said she felt an instant attraction. Aliyah said this was strange for her because of her track record of dating women. Had you asked her before she met Kevin, she would have confidently said she could not imagine dating a man.

She persisted
Reportedly, Kevin did not peruse Aliyah. It was more the other way around. Kevin saw her as a young woman, and possibly too young for him. However, she was determined. In October 2020 they became official when the staff at the school had a night out. “I don’t think he considered a romantic relationship with me because of the age gap,” Aliyah said to the Daily Mail. “But I have always been told I have an old soul, so I didn’t think twice about that.”
In October 2021, a year later, Kevin asked Aliyah if she would marry him. The wedding took place on July 2022, in Canyonland National Park, Utah. They decided to have a private ceremony without any family or friends. “It was a dream come true to spend our special day alone together in nature,” said Aliyah.

Everyone has an opinion
When breaking the news, Aliyah has had to face a lot of people. Not only did she marry someone who was 30 years her senior, but she married a man. “My family and friends weren’t shocked by the age gap, they were shocked by the gender,” admitted Aliyah. “I never considered being with a man before. I had just got out of a three-year relationship with a woman. But, I had a strong connection with him, and it broke me out of the box.”
Aliyah says that those who are close to her have been supportive, but those who don’t really know her say she is in it for the money. “Thankfully, everyone has been pretty accepting,” said Aliyah “But strangers and some people from work have assumed I am with him for his money.”
Despite the people who doubted the genuineness of Aliyah’s love for Kevin, she says they have great chemistry between them. This was what assured her that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. “I knew from the get-go that I wanted to marry him, something I had never felt before,” said Aliyah. “He is the first man I have ever dated, and our s*x life is amazing. His age doesn’t make a different; we do it at least five times per week.”
