Bill Cosby is Going on Trial Again: Everything We Know

Just under one year ago Bill Cosby walked out of prison a free man after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his sexual assault case, claiming his due process rights were violated. Now, he is going on trial again in Los Angeles for allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in the 1970s at the Playboy Mansion.

Judy Huth Claim Bill Cosby Sexually Molested Her

Judy Huth is one of many women that have made the claim to have been sexually abused by Bill Cosby. She says that when she was 16 years old, she and her friend, Donna Samuelson, were taken to the Playboy mansion. According to Judy, Bill molested her in a bedroom. She was underage at the time of the assault. Bill Cosby has denied all allegations, especially knowing that Judy was a minor.

Defendant vehemently denies that plaintiff was underage,” Cosby’s attorney says.

Judy is determined to prove that Bill knew of her age. She has been arguing this case of hers for a while.

This is not the first time that Bill Cosby had to deny a similar allegation. There are about 60 other cases of other women who all claim that Bill Cosby also sexually assaulted them. But still, he denies that there is any truth in Judy’s accusations.

While defendant does not deny that he socialized with plaintiff at the Playboy Mansion, as he did other women and men who frequented the club,” Cosby’s attorney added.

Judy Huth, Explained

Judy Huth was only 16 years old when she met Bill Cosby. She is now 64 but remembers the whole ordeal very well.  Cosby originally invited Judy and her friend to his tennis club for a day of fun and games. Then they made a detour to the Playboy Mansion. Judy said they were told to lie about their age and to say they were 19.

Judy reported that when they arrived at the Playboy Mansion, she needed to use the restroom. After asking Bill Cosby how to get there, he led her to a bathroom that was part of an ensuite bedroom. When she came back out of the restroom, Mr. Cosby was waiting for her in the bedroom, sitting on the bed. He asked her to sit beside him, and it was there that he tried to put his hand down her pants, and he manipulated her into doing a sexual act. Judy filed a report and charged him with sexual battery and the infliction of emotional distress.

Judy’s lawsuit against Bill Cosby reads: “While at the Playboy Mansion, plaintiff told Cosby that she needed to use the bathroom. Cosby directed her to a bathroom within a bedroom suite near the game room. When the plaintiff emerged from the bathroom, she found Cosby sitting on the bed. He asked her to sit beside him. He then proceeded to sexually molest her by attempting to put his hand down her pants, then taking her hand in his hand, and performing a sex act on himself without her consent.”

Judy Huth Revised her Dates

Judy had originally laid her claim against Bill Cosby in 2014 but she had made a mistake with the dates. The assault happened in 1975 when she was 16. Her mistake was saying the assault happened in 1974, which would have made her 15.

Bill Cosby’s legal team stated Judy’s date revision from 1974 to 1975, “Trial by ambush.” This was then challenged by Judy’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, who said: “It is a trial by evidence. We believe that the defense was well aware of the fact that the incident at the Playboy mansion occurred in 1975 when Judith Huth was 16 years old prior to our notifying the defense in a court filing in early May.

“What we believe they are upset about is that they were intending to ambush Ms. Huth on the witness stand by proving that the event at the mansion could not have occurred when she was 15 years old and we upset their plans.”

Bill Cosby Is Too Ill to Take the Stand

Bill Cosby is now 84 years old. His spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, has announced that Mr. Cosby will not take the stand to testify against the accusations. “Since he is 100% blind with glaucoma and the Covid numbers are going up, we just don’t want to take any chances,” said Wyatt.

Wyatt went on to explain Bill Cosby feels he will be blamed just like he was with the Pennsylvania trial, but Wyatt himself has some high hopes for the outcome of the trial. He feels that the law will work in their favor and clear his name of the allegations.

“He feels he will experience the same vindication he experienced in Pennsylvania. The jurors will pay attention to the facts of this case and they will make their decisions without any prejudice towards him … We do believe he will be vindicated”.
