YouTuber Elise Buch shares videos about thrifting, vintage and bohemian clothes, life in Denmark, and more recently, turning a shed into a tiny home. As of late, the boutique owner has been looking to buy a house but has yet to find one that fits her budget. So she bought a shed to turn into a cabin to enjoy over the summer and weekends. Most importantly, it has enough outdoor space to plant a garden.
This YouTuber Turned a Tiny House into a Cottage
“I did it,” she said in her video in May 2021. “I bought a tiny house and a garden. I’m so excited to share this with you, and super excited to get started digging out flower beds and painting and decorating. I still can’t quite believe that this is the reality and I got the keys yesterday to my own place.
She continued, “I’ve been dreaming about and talking about getting a house for a really long time now but money-wise and with being single and buying a huge house, it hasn’t really felt like that was the time.
“But since I’ve dreamt about having my own garden and my own space to do whatever I want to do, I’ve now bought what is apparently called an allotment garden, it is basically a wooden house and then a tiny garden that I can do whatever I want with basically. I think it’s because everything happened so quickly over the last week that it still feels a little bit unreal.”
She gave her followers a tour of her new cottage and land, including the furniture the previous owner had left behind. Her excitement is contagious as she discussed her plans to decorate and improve the place.

“Winnie the Cottage”
Today, Buch is no longer single and the shed no longer looks like a shed. Over the past year, she has worked on improving it, turning it into a cozy, bright, and bohemian cottage she nicknamed “Winnie”. She has since painted the interior a bubblegum pink and the ceiling a sunny yellow. “…And maybe it was the overwhelming joy of being 100% in control with all the decisions that made me decide I’d go bright Barbie pink, bright pink and with a yellow ceiling,” she wrote on the Instagram account dedicated to her cottage. “Yesss, a combination not seen often, but I felt boss and loved the progress of transforming the all brown room.”
The once dark blue exterior has been painted yellow with white finishings. Plus, the garden has taken root, with flowers planted alongside the house and near the tree in the yard. She has added comfortable vintage furniture from her many thrifting hauls. Fairy lights and a cozy log burner keep the cottage warm and well-lit.
In her most recent video about the cabin in February, she showed off the newly-installed back door, which she plans to paint. Plus, the 100 bulbs she had planted are finally beginning to sprout. She also brought some corner shelves to add to the cottage, as well as her sewing machine. Showing off adorable pictures, rugs, curtains, and pillows to decorate, it’s clear Buch takes a lot of pride in the tiny home that is entirely her own. Despite the cold, she had already bought seeds for flowers and green beans to grow when spring arrived.
