Outraged Delivery Driver Takes Food Back After Customer Gives $8 Tip

Doordash drivers and tips have been in the center of social media debates for a while now. Recently, another video has gone viral involving a driver for Doordash.

This time around, the driver had gotten into an altercation with the customer because of the tip amount. What was surprising even more than the altercation, was what she did at the end.

The Fight For A Better Tip

The driver, who was a woman, had arrived at the customer’s door in Long Island with the order. The customer had a Ring doorbell camera that recorded the whole altercation at the Smithtown home. Here’s the entire conversation:

After ringing the bell, the driver insisted on talking directly with the customer. When the customer answered through the door, the viewers can hear the female driver saying:

“I don’t think you realize the distance that it’s coming from because then you would never actually have given what you gave.”

She claimed that she had to drive 40 minutes and 12 and a half miles to deliver the order. She asked the male customer:

“Do you realize how far it is? Do you realize you ordered from Commack and you’re in Smithtown?”

However, the customer repeatedly insisted on the drive being only 15 to 20 minutes. Seeing that the driver kept denying it, the customer then asked him why she took up the delivery.

The driver explained that the Doordash app does not tell the couriers the entire distance before they accept the order. So she insisted that the customer “make it right” and adjust the tip. Then the customer inquired about how much tip he did leave. On confirming that it was $8, he made an exasperated reply:

“What the hell are you looking for?! I gave an $8 tip!”

Then came the most unexpected part. The driver said: “Okay, I’m gonna bring the food back.” And then she actually left!

The last of the footage shows the woman walking back to her car. We never got to know how it actually ended. However, we think that the guy probably did not get that order.
