DIY-er Builds A Gazebo Fit For A Fairytale Wedding

While many people are having to fork out large sums of money for renovations, others have a handy husband stored up their sleeve to get the job done. One man built a gazebo that would be the perfect addition to a fairy-tale-themed wedding. What he came up with was better than any gazebo they could have purchased from Ikea. He added some of his artistic flares to his DIY gazebo, and the internet has given him a round of applause.

Husband builds artistic DIY gazebo

Buying a gazebo can be extremely expensive. Not to mention, they are the standard gazebos you can see in everyone’s backyard. Sometimes, one wishes for something a little more unique to add some artistic flare to their garden. A man named Matt Parker built a DIY gazebo that could be used for a fairy-tale-themed wedding. The result was even more magical than anyone could have expected. The image of the mystical DIY gazebo has since gone viral since its creation. People from all over are commenting on the uniqueness of its design.

Parker is a carpenter by trade and his company is called Creative Carpentry and Design Co. They build all kinds of custom woodworking designs. His DIY gazebo looks like something from a fairy tale.

He first started by building the frame of the gazebo. That way, he was able to design intricate patterns with uniqueness. The whole gazebo is A-symmetrical, which adds a flare of fantasy to the overall design. Next, he fitted the frame of the roof, to which he later added the detailing to make the roof look like it was made of tile. However, the whole thing is made of wood. Additionally, you can only access it from the front archway as the walls have wooden branches closing up the sides. He designed this to make the walls look like leaves. The gazebo fits into multiple settings, so if you wanted something similar, you could use it for any location.

From hobby to profession

Matt Parker, being a carpenter by trade, usually has to follow the specific requests of his clients. But this time, he was able to add his own artistic flare. His inspiration for most of his designs comes from nature. When Matt was a young boy, he was fascinated by his father’s tools. So, he started taking them outside and building things with whatever he could find in their garden. He said, “I was always borrowing my dad’s tools and leaving them out in the yard.”

Before his DIY gazebo went viral, his business relied on word of mouth. In other words, people would show off their new wooden structures and furniture pieces that were built by Matt, and their friends would want something done as well. “It’s 99 percent word of mouth,” said Parker. “Someone [always] knows someone that’s looking for a carpenter.”

Matt Parker truly gets a kick out of seeing his client’s first reaction to his creations. Their happiness over his craftsmanship is why he is a carpenter by profession. He is open to all kinds of requests from clients, as his work motto suggests: “A true master can create anything he wants within his own reality.”
