World’s Richest Man Elon Musk Says He’s Homeless And ‘Rotates’ Among Friends’ Houses

Ever seen a rich man who doesn’t own a house? Well, now you do. Elon Musk, the richest man on the planet, doesn’t have a house. By his own admission, he has been sleeping on his friends’ spare beds. So, any chance that you might be his friend? In a recent interview with TED, the billionaire stated that he had been staying with his friends. With his headquarters around the Bay Area in San Francisco, he probably has a few billionaire friends himself.

Elon Musk Doesn’t Live Like A Billionaire- He Has No Need For It!

In the TED interview, he stated, “I don’t even own a place right now, I’m literally staying at friends’ places. If I travel to the Bay Area, which is where most of Tesla’s engineering is, I basically rotate through friends’ spare bedrooms.

The billionaire also claimed that he had no yachts and if you know anything about billionaires- they seem love owning yachts. Elon Musk also doesn’t take holidays and is a complete workaholic.

“I don’t have a yacht, I don’t take vacations, so it’s not as though my personal consumption is high. One exception is a plane but if I don’t use the plane I have less hours to work.”

He was then asked by Chris Anderson, the head of the conference organization for TED, about what people thought about billionaires. Musk replied:

I think there’s some axiomatic flaws that are leading to that conclusion. For sure it would be problematic if I was consuming billions of dollars a year in personal consumption but that is not the case.” As of now, according to Forbes real-time billionaire list, Elon Musk has a total net worth of $262.9 billion. Needless to say, he is the richest man in the entire world, but, according to his partner, Grimes, he doesn’t “live like a billionaire.”

Grimes stated, “Bro lives at times below the poverty line. To the point where I was like, can we not live in a very insecure $40,000 house? Where the neighbours, like, film us, and there’s no security, and I’m eating peanut butter for eight days in a row?” Of course, Grimes was later condemned for thinking she and Elon Musk were living like the poor. But, the statement had been made.

Regardless, compared to how they could live, Elon seems to be living cheaply. That’s relatively speaking of course, he is still a billionaire.

So, what do you think about Elon’s money spending habits? Virtuous or not? Let us know in the comments!
