Boss Decided To Change Up The Office By Building Every Single Person A Tiny House

Ever since the pandemic hit, most of us have been under work-from-home employment. And let’s be honest- it does get pretty tedious at times (for some of us) as we keep looking at the same screen for hours on end. This is where creativity is applauded, as we see from this TikTok video where a work-from-home setup went viral. Currently, it has an astounding 15.7 million views. The caption for the video, which was originally shared by TikTok user @itskylie94, read, “When the boss builds everyone their own tiny house as offices.

The clip then went on to highlight a bunch of small houses with rooftops and windows adorned with decorative plants—all of these overlooked patches of grass. And if one were to peer in closely- one would find white desks in every home.

In the later comments, the original poster for this work-from-home setup stated, “I love it! Everyone’s house is customized based on their personality! And all the house numbers are birthdays!” According to a survey that was conducted in 2022 of 25,062 American adults, it was understood that close to 58% of the individuals stated that they had the opportunity to work from home for at least a single day of the week. On the other hand, 35% reported that they could work from home for five days a week.

The survey also found that 87% of the workers who were offered some form of remote work took up this opportunity, where they were able to spend close to three days a week working from home. The study discovered this across a wide range of occupations, demographics, and geographies.

The survey also highlighted that a flexible working arrangement was one of the most valuable reasons behind people seeking a new job. The other reasons included better career opportunities, as well as higher pay. This setting, in hindsight, did cater to the masses, as they favored it quite a lot. One user, Patrick Suprunowicz, mentioned, “Boss said ‘Good news we’re allowing everyone to work from home still!’” One comment that got major traction read, “I would love to tell a coworker to get out of my house lol. I’ve never needed anything more.

Another user posted, “Now I want a tiny house office. I wfh and would actually work in this office lol.” Yet another user commented, “A whole new meaning of ‘step into my office.’” There were other reasons why people actually preferred a wfh setup. According to Kfir Cohen, the manager of global operations at SDC International Shipping, “My favorite thing about working from home is that I can listen to my favorite music at a high volume without any headphones and stay in the zone.”

A Work From Home Setup Is Highly Favorable To Office-goers

Needless to say, these tiny work-from-home setups are quite impressive for the populace. When you have such an office where you are granted your own space, certain privacy issues are not a concern anymore. Employees can play music as loud as they want, or they can get in a quick workout while at work. As long as their productivity and efficiency don’t decrease due to these added features, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a little bit of independence in the workplace.

Also, it must be mentioned that not everyone is granted the safe to create such an environment in their homes. So, if they can work comfortably in a space outside their homes, it would be nothing but a win-win.

Since there were many who wanted to understand the structural nitty-gritty behind these tiny homes, Dan from Tiny Home Builders, Georgia, was contacted. Speaking to Bored Panda, Dan mentioned, “A tiny house is typically lived in like a normal house, it’s just smaller and thus cheaper. They are mostly built on trailers, since houses this small are generally not permitted in most places. This gives them the added benefit of being mobile.” The functionality of such a house in a work from home setup cannot be missed.

These Offices Are Apparently Easier To Build Too!

Speaking about the process of creating it, Dan stated, “Building these tiny house officers would have been a lot simpler than building a normal tiny house. Since these offices are built inside, they won’t be exposed to the harsh elements like a normal home. This makes the building process a lot easier since the structures won’t need to be watertight. Also these offices don’t have or need plumbing, so that takes away some of the challenge as well.”

Although the houses featured in the TikTok video are for work from home users, Dan has argued that these houses are for everyone. He claims, “There isn’t a specific ‘type’ of person who is interested in tiny houses. We see people from all walks of life that are interested in living a simpler, more streamlined lifestyle.
