Some of us think of pets as belonging to the same category as children. However, what happens when you have to choose a side between your pet cat and a 13-year-old boy? Well, the internet definitely has a thing or two to say about it.
Honestly, your opinion is usually dictated by which one of the two you have: a kid or a cat. But before you choose sides, take a look at the story first.
The story begins with a Tweet by @shannoncooperox:
My 10 year old neighbour just threw a cup of water over my cat who was sitting on the fence minding his own business n laughed so I threw a basin of water over him from the window and now his dad is at my door going mental but I don’t see the problem, don’t touch my cat

Her revenge did not end there as she included a final word against “Brian” as well:
will throw it over u too Brian

The Cat Or The Kid – Who Needs More Protection?
If you are on the side of the cat, then you will know how protective cat owners can be of their pets. Of course, the boy was old enough to know that he was being cruel. As such, these users were all for Shannon’s reaction:
Just start throwing water on the dad now. Don’t stop throwing water until your cat is avenged

Not gonna lie but if my kid did that and got a bucket of water over them I’d laugh and say it was their own fault.

Wow. Some of these responses prove what is wrong with society today. If I had thrown water on a neighbor’s cat my parents would have whipped me and made me apologize to the owner and asked if she would like to throw another pot on me. They sure as hell wouldn’t have defended me!

On the other hand, others thought that this could be considered an “assault” on a child by an adult. These angry parents were quick to point out how wrong it was for Shannon to do so:
What u did to kid was inhuman. There were other ways to stop the kid to behave with cats gently. The kid father is justified to sue you in a court.

That would be a form of assault

You don't retaliate against children
The proper response would be to talk to the kids parents
But throwing a basin water on a 10yr old could get you in alot of trouble
Its v childish how you handled it you should had told the parents first so that they could punish their own kid… Like no that wouldn't hurt a kid but at the same time as a parent myself ID LIKE TO HANDLE MY KID because no its not right the kid did that but its also not yours

Now, here is one final update on the situation from Shannon herself:
Trending Now
people r so mad over this, the kid and his dad were laughing about it today, we r friends (also might I add the dad never knew what his son done which is why he was mad to begin with) also the kid is 13 he rlly looks fkn 10 lmao

So who do you think was on the side of justice? Or, perhaps, the internet just has too much time on its hands? Let us know in the comments!
