Demi Lovato Believes We Should Stop Calling Extra Terrestrials Aliens Because It’s Offensive

Are you a believer in life on other planets or in other galaxies? Well, singer, actor, and activist Demi Levato is, and they have a message for us: We should stop referring to extraterrestrials as aliens. They say that the word “alien” is offensive to the potential other life forms that may one day arrive here. (1)

Demi Lovato Says We Should Stop Calling ETs Aliens

Demi Lovato is pretty excited about their latest project. No, it’s not a new album, nor is it a movie. It is a four-part series called Unidentified with Demi Lovato. The series will follow Demi, their sister Dallas, and best friend Matthew as they attempt to find the truth about UFOs and extraterrestrial phenomena. That’s right: It’s a series about looking for signs of Alien life.

“I just thought, you know, I’m in a position in my career right now where I’m dipping my toes into a lot of different waters. And this was just kind of a natural next step. I wanted to film everything that goes down when I go and search for these UFOs so that my fans can come along for the ride.” they said.

ETs Mean No Harm

Demi has believed in ETs their entire life, ever since they were a child. What they don’t like, however, is the way in which media, television, and film have always depicted extraterrestrials. They say that there has always been this aspect of fear-mongering surrounding beings from other galaxies. Television shows, documentaries, and movies always make these creatures out to be something we should fear. The narrative is always “If beings from outer space ever find us, they will surely try to destroy us and take over our planet”. Demi doesn’t believe that is the case.

“I think that if there were beings that could harm us, we would have been gone a long time ago,” they explained. “I also think that if there are civilisations that are of consciousness in other dimensions, which has given them the technology to be able to travel through space, I think that they are looking for nothing but peaceful encounters and interactions because like I said, if they wanted us gone, we would have been gone a long time ago!”

They explain how it is even ridiculous to necessarily think that any other civilization would want our planet. After all, the health of our planet dwindles away further every day. Climate change is getting worse still, so why would someone else want to live here? If they have the ability to find and adapt to living on different planets, they’re more likely to choose one that is fairing a bit better.

Don’t Call Them Aliens

According to Lovato, the word “alien” is offensive. They explain that it is typically used here on Earth to define something as an outsider – something that doesn’t belong. They describe the word as one used to ostracize people and make them out to be someone that others should fear or stay away from.

“I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything. That’s why I like to call them ETs! So yeah, that’s a little tidbit. A little information that I learned.”

While as the singer already stated, they don’t believe extraterrestrials would ever come here to hurt us or take over our planet, perhaps referring to them as ETs, for now, isn’t such a bad idea. After all, regardless of their intentions, we probably don’t want the first thing we do is to offend them. So maybe Lovato’s words have some merit.

Contacting The ETs

Demi believes that you can contact ETs – and (spoiler alert) they even do so in the Unidentified series. Though they can’t necessarily state anything they know as fact, because nothing has been determined to be 100% real or truthful, they are pretty strong in their beliefs.

“Something happened in every city that we went to, which was really cool. Not necessarily just with UFOs, but there was even paranormal things that happened.” they said. “I have a belief that you can make contact, just as easy as I did if you were to meditate and expand your consciousness and work towards enlightenment. I believe that is the quickest way to be able to see something or meet something.”

To understand exactly how Demi makes contact and what they and their two compatriots find and see on their adventures, you will have to watch the series to find out. Perhaps then you can form some opinions of your own on the topic, as well.
