We often put on a persona when we are in love. Mind you, that persona might not even be sensible. It is just that we think that by doing something, or not doing something, they would love us more. Let’s get on with the story of this singer who decided to not fart before her partner.
What did it lead to? Well, she was then admitted to a hospital due to underlying issues.[1] This is the story of Viviane de Queiroz Pereira, a singer from Brazil. She had to be hospitalized because she didn’t want to pass gas in front of her significant other. All that led to a massive gas buildup. So we ask- what was the need for such a drastic step?
If You Don’t Fart, The Gas Might Pass Through Your Mouth
The singer had detailed her entire fiasco on Instagram Live for the 15.7 million followers that she has. Pocah- that is her stage name while performing, then removed her fart-fiasco from Instagram. She also mentioned in the post, “I woke up at 5:30 am with severe stomach pains and ended up in the hospital”. The 27-year-old superstar had also put up her photos in that post. She then detailed the entire history behind this issue. According to the post, the affliction started after she refused to let one rip due to being on farting terms with her boyfriend.

Interestingly, the singer had also taken advice from TikTok to not fart before her boyfriend. The advice entailed that she should ignore her stomach pains. Big mistake.
For the uninformed, why did her no-fart rule create such a problem? Well, trapped gas takes place when methane is not able to move through the intestines normally. This leads to sufferers going through a sharp pain or discomfort in their abdomen. However, consuming certain food items usually causes this condition. It could also be the result of an irritable bowel syndrome and in the case of the singer- a really weird relationship with her partner.
Pereira has been using her own story to warn others from making the same mistakes.
“But that’s it guys, I’m medicated and I’m fine. Girls, don’t be ashamed to fart in front of your guy, because what’s really embarrassing is not letting your guy sleep because you’re in discomfort, going to the hospital with your guy, and the diagnosis being ‘trapped farts.’ From now on, I’m letting them rip, guys.”
To be honest, this looks like a lesson well learned.
But then again, don’t fart too much that you need to be put in the hospital. Like in this case:
