Woman Who Made Over $50,000 A Week Selling Farts Hospitalized For Trying To Fart Too Much

There are a million and one ways to make money in this world. Who knew that selling farts in jars would not only be one of them but actually be incredibly profitable? A former reality TV star and TikTok influencer was making a fortune selling her farts in jars to people on the internet – until it landed her in the hospital.

The Influencer Who Made A Fortune Selling Her Farts In Jars

Have you ever heard of a fart fetish? Neither had I – until I heard of 90 Day Fiance star Stephanie Matto making some serious cash selling hers to strangers on the internet. After appearing on the show, Stephanie gained a massive following on social media. Along with that came some pretty, well, strange requests. Among the weirdest of those was people asking her to mail them her flatulence in a jar. (1)

“Working on my own adult-friendly platform these past few months has made me very aware of the different types of niches and markets that are out there,” she said. “Over the years, I’ve gotten a few messages from men and women wanting to buy my worn bras, panties, hair, bath water, etc. I thought farts were super niche, but also something fun, quirky, and different. It’s almost like a novelty item!”

While this may sound completely ridiculous, Stephanie was laughing, too – all the way to the bank! Off of each jar she was making $1000. Completely overwhelmed with requests, she made $70,000 in one week and was on track to becoming a billionaire. As to why people want to spend such large amounts of money on jars filled with stinky air? Well, she says the answers are as interesting as the request itself.

“People really like the idea of spending an exorbitant amount of money and kind of being — I don’t want to say ‘swindled,’ but it’s like a financial domination thing for a lot of men,” she explained. (2)

The Health Scare

Of course, the average person only farts maybe a handful of times per day, tops. The flatulence aren’t always very stinky either. Sometimes it barely has an odor at all. To keep up with demand, Stephanie had to lean into some pretty serious diet modifications. (3)

“I began this venture by eating mostly protein muffins, shakes, and also hard-boiled eggs. Since then I’ve decided to branch out a little bit and try some new recipes to keep it exciting,” she explained. “I have been loving black bean salad, onion, ham and pepper omelettes, and I have been making a really great protein smoothie with lots of banana. I think that certain foods produce better smelling farts, so I usually tend to go with the smoothies as opposed to things such as cabbage and eggs.”

The protein, she says, gives the farts a stronger stench. Her special diet, however, did take its toll on her health. One day, she ate a big bowl of black bean soup and also downed about three of her special banana protein smoothies. Later on that evening while lying in bed, she felt like something wasn’t quite right. Stephanie explained it as a pressure in her stomach that was moving upwards. (4)

“It was quite hard to breathe and every time I tried to breathe in I’d feel a pinching sensation around my heart. And that, of course, made my anxiety escalate,” she recalled. “I actually called my friend and asked if they could come over to drive me to the hospital because I thought I was experiencing a heart attack.”

Upon inspection by the doctor, thankfully what she was experiencing wasn’t a heart attack or a stroke. It was simply extremely intense gas pains. The doctor told her that she needed to change her diet and that it would be wise of her to take a gas suppressant medication. For the sake of her health, she headed their orders. Of course, this means the end of her fart selling business.

Mixed Reviews

As she and now we have learned, there is obviously a large market of people out there with secret fart fetishes. So naturally those people give her business venture a proper thumbs up. Stephanie says that she has also received a decent amount of praise on social media for being so bold. People have called her a “girl boss” and have said she inspires them to also be unashamed of what they do.

On the other hand, there have been just as many if not more people who’ve been rather vocal about their disdain for her business practice. She has certainly received her fair share of negativity over the whole thing.

“I have even received death threats, people telling me I should end my life, and so on.” she said. “I try my best to not react to these people and give them what they want, which is attention… we need to stop tearing people down for their choices. Especially if their choices are literally hurting no one.”
