How much clout do 2021 predictions made by an elderly blind Bulgarian woman who died in 1996 have? Weâre not entirely sure, but that doesnât mean they donât exist. Here are predictions for 2021 made by Baba Vanga. (1)
Baba Vanga: Predictions for 2021
Blind since birth, Baba Vanga is also known as The Nostradamus of the Balkans for her reputation as a great seer and medium. Born in the Bulgarian Kozhuh mountains in 1911, she died in 1996 at the age of 85. Before her death, she allegedly made predictions for humanity’s future up until the year 5079, when she believes the world will end. (1)
As for the year 2021, Baba Vanga has said we should expect (1):
- A lot of cataclysms and great disasters
- Three âgiantsâ to unite
- A âstrong dragonâ to seize humanity
- Cancer will get tied with âiron chainsâ
Some believe this means we will find a cure for cancer and that China will continue to grow as a global power. (1)
Previous Predictions
While alive, Baba Vanga wasnât overly well-known, at least not internationally. Many believed she possessed powers of clairvoyance and would go to her to contact deceased relatives. Four years after her death, however, the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk sank. (2)
According to her followers, 20 years prior, she said that Kursk would be flooded. At the time, people thought this meant the city. From there, more prophecies began popping up that she apparently made before her death. (2)
One of the most well-known was her prediction that in 2001, âsteel birdsâ would attack America. Naturally, many believe this to be a prediction of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centers in New York City. (1)
There have been several other predictions that Baba Vanga made, several of which her believers tied to other world events. One includes a prediction of floods that devastated Indonesia in 2004. While she apparently âaccuratelyâ predicted the tsunami, she said it wouldn’t happen until 2020.

Can We Trust Baba Vangaâs Predictions?
While they may be interesting to read, there really isnât any validity to the claims. (1, 2)
First of all, Baba Vanga never wrote any of her predictions down. Most of her prophecies were recorded by other people. There is also some information to show that her âpredictionsâ have actually been made up by internet trolls. (1)
Secondly, many of Baba Vangaâs so-called prophecies have not come true. Some of these include (1):
- Europe would no longer exist in 2016 (some think this perhaps refers to Brexit), and that Europe will become an empty wasteland devoid of any life.
- Russia would become âLord of the World.â
- Barack Obama would be the last American President.
- A third world war using nuclear weapons from 2010 to 2014 that would destroy the entire Northern Hemisphere
- A giant meteorite would hit Russia in 2019/2020
So while her predictions may be entertaining to read and speculate about, I most certainly would not suggest that you read too heavily into them. There are plenty of other things to focus your energy on this year.
